Human Rights in Patient Care - lecture fro medical students, part of bioethics course teaching
Summary
Patients' rights are widely discussed and stated in different documents. World Medical Association Declaration on Patients' Rights have been the core document of reference when discussing this topic. However, this document can be embedded in the wider framework of human rights already established by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. This lectures aims to give basic knowledge of the topic of human rights in patient care to medical students in order to sensitize them the issue and focus their attention on the rights' dimension of cases in their future practice.
